New title: Chief analytics officer, Cleveland Clinic
Marinez will take the reins at the end of the month as Cleveland Clinic’s first chief analytics officer, according to a press release from the academic medical center.
The new role will focus on cutting costs and supporting the health system’s growth, including using data to improve patient care.
“As Cleveland Clinic works to responsibly expand our use of healthcare technology and data, we need a leader who will ensure the consistent gathering and application of analytics across our enterprise,” said Rohit Chandra, chief digital officer for Cleveland Clinic, in a statement.
Marinez previously served as chief analytics officer at Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare, where he led data and analytics strategy for care sites and helped to launch the health system’s Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence focused on ethical AI use in healthcare.
Marinez has held positions at pharmacy automation and transport company Swisslog Healthcare, healthcare AI startup KenSci, MultiCare Health System and AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division.
