In his new role, Setzer leads Walmart Health and Wellness’ retail pharmacy, optical and healthcare delivery business lines in its U.S. supercenters and neighborhood markets, according to the executive’s LinkedIn. Walmart Health and Wellness includes the retail giant’s pharmacy, vision clinics and Walmart Health, its network of medical centers.
Setzer has been at Walmart since 2021 serving as Walmart Health’s chief financial officer. He joined Walmart after seven years at Highmark Health, where he worked a variety of operating and financial management positions. Before that, Setzer worked for health insurer Cigna for almost 15 years.
Walmart Health and Wellness has made a number of executive appointments this year, naming Brody McConnell as director of innovations and Pritesh Gandhi as chief community health officer.
